I know I haven't posted all week. It has been a good week, but nothing has been very inspiring. Abram has been off-track, and it has actually been a nice break. We have managed to keep busy without watching too much T.V. Anyway, here is a little excerpt from my conversation with Abram this morning.
Abram: Mom, are there a lot of "right girls" out there for me?
Me: Sure there are.
Abram: How will I know which one is the "right one" for me?
Me: You'll just know. I knew with your Dad.
Abram: Yeah, but you're a girl. How will I know?
Me: You'll just know. Trust me.
Abram: The second I know, I am going to marry her right away.
Me: Even if you're 14?
Abram: Yup.
Me: I won't let you if you are 14.
I signed Abram up for a Friday off-track sports class. He was so excited all morning, and then he told me that he really hopes that his teacher there is a boy. This surprised me because he always has a thing for cute older girls. He then said, "I want my teacher to be a boy because girls aren't very sporty." I feigned shock, and told him that girls ARE sporty. He then says, "But YOU aren't sporty, Mom." (Like I needed him to point this out to me. If he only knew how bad I dreaded TA volleyball back in 7th grade. Or how bad I was at the sit-n-reach. Or how my A- in P.E. ruined my beautiful 4.0 grade point average.) So I proceeded to list all the girls he knows that are sporty. I'm not sure if I convinced him.

Abram is so great! I love everything that he says. He makes me laugh. Thank you so much for blogging. I miss it too much when you don't. Let's plan a play date soon. Love you.
Heidi, for the record I've always considered you pretty "sporty." Your kids are so funny.
He's getting so big. He is SO DANG smart. Watch out! :)
Abram, so who would you consider a sporty girl. We would like to know? How did your sports day go? Good thing you have a hold on Abram, or you never know he might just marry "the right girl" at 14 or maybe a girl at the beach.. see my blog!
He is such a cute kid! I love it when you post the funny things he says!
I love "off-track." I haven't heard that term in years. I can't believe they still have to send kids year-round!
My mom used to sign us up for "off-track" things too. I remember ice skating, tennis, etc. So fun!
You're sportier than some of us--hello, water skiing?
At least we have Liz who played high school sports.
Abram is hilarious. That kid, I swear.
Abram is hilarious. I enjoyed chatting with him yesterday...especially at the end of the conversation when I said "Thanks for talking with me," and he said, "No, it's been my pleasure."
