Canyon Country

Phil Post - Avi and I were fortunate enough to spend a day in God's country, in our national park that the pioneers referred to as "little Zion". Our merry band was comprised of Heidi's father, Paul and my friend from Israel, Sasha. The trip was short, but sweet and somewhat spontaneous which always makes a road trip more memorable. We spent one night in Hurricane, then a few hours tromping around on a couple of the classic Zions Park trails joined not only by our international guest, but by foreigners from all over the globe. It's always funny to think that these young families from Japan, or Italy with their 2-3 kids in designer Benetton clothes have flown from the far reaches of God's green earth to be here in our backyard. I'm sure there's nice places to visit in Japan and Italy, but there's no way in Elko we could pull off a Lampoon-style international vacation at this point in our life to visit those places. I am glad that we have access to these sacred places. It was a great trip and many thanks be to Paul for coming along to give our trip some legitimate "coolness".

Elphie looks pretty cute, you should check out my new pet Rambo, he is not cute at all. You all look great, I cant believe how big your kids are getting. I need to get out to "God's Country" soon, it has been a long time since I have seen you all.

Heidi, this has nothing to do with Zions, but I was looking at all the coupon stuff from your links...and I about went crazy! There is so much stuff out there...great sites....I could probably spend the rest of my life reading it all...

Oh yes we will be there for sure! Too bad it's 6 months away... It's ok. I can wait a few months for the new book. :)
