Movie Club

So Abram has wanted to start a movie club for awhile. His grand ambitions have included holding a movie club every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. He wants it to last for 3 hours- to watch the chosen movie for 2 hours, and then act it out for the last hour. He has wanted to invite everybody he knows, including his aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as the entire neighborhood. Well, last week I gave him the go ahead to start his movie club on Wednesday. He hasn't been loving 1st grade like I thought he would, so I thought it would be good for him to have something to look forward to. I told him we'd start small. Just Wednesdays for now. And to maybe just invite a handful of friends this time, not everybody that he knows. So he got to work. He made some calls and made some cupcakes. He chose to screen his current favorite movie Twitches. He wanted Twitches themed cupcakes, and he did a pretty good job of decorating them. Alex happily helped. Abram made a sign for the door and was more excited than I've seen him in a long time. Abram's guests for his 1st movie club were: Seth, Makayla, Avy, Eli, Emily, Easton, and Mickaela. It was a success! The kids loved the movie, and we ate popcorn, mac and cheese, and cupcakes. Here's to many more movie club days! And it is proving to be a good bribe to get Abram to go to school! :) Decorating the cupcakes... no, I didn't make homemade frosting. The kids didn't seem to mind.

The completed cupcakes.

OK, this is unrelated, but I had to post a picture of my final cake from my class. Thanks again to my sisters for signing me up. I loved it, and I am looking forward to taking the next level. I can't wait to learn fondant.

I can't wait till we get invited to come to a movie club...I am so excited, I'll help with the decorations. This might end up being a full time job for you...on that note, maybe you should be a full time cake maker that is super fancy.

What an awesome cake Heidi!! You are quite the master. You'll have to give me some lessons.

What a creative kid! I love that idea. I love the sign he made. I think that is so funny that he wanted to watch the movie and then act it out. You're such a fun mom for letting him follow through with his great idea!

Oh, and the cake is fabulous! I'm SO impressed.

That cake is so cute. What a great job you did. I took their class and had the hardest time with the roses. I got a couple really good ones right off and then couldn't after that. FUn stuff.

That cake is gorgeous!

The cake looks fabulous. Forget the "Ace of Cakes"! They have nothing on you, except, maybe a bigger budget, lots of help, a tv producer, clientele, huge fan base, etc.
