It is good to be back!

I know- I have been a blogging slacker lately. I don't really have an excuse, but it feels good to be back. I took Sammy to the doctor last week for his four month checkup- he is still off the charts! He weighs 19lbs. 3 oz, and he is 25 and 3/4 inches. He is at the cutest age, and he is the most ticklish baby I have ever seen. He is rolling over from his tummy to his back. I am happy for this milestone, but it is a reminder that he will soon be mobile- a stage I am not ready for quite yet.
On a more solemn note, Seth Mason Fish (our beta fish of 2.5 years) passed away last week. We didn't say anything to the kids when he died, but instead decided to wait for them to notice. It took almost an entire week! Alex asked about him casually, but Abram pressed the issue. So we explained that Seth Fish had gone onto Fish Heaven. And Abram took the news really hard. Really hard. As in he cried for a couple of hours. He has such a tender little heart. Never mind it took them both a week to notice- this fish was truly loved! He has since prayed in every prayer that Seth will be resurrected.

I guess it is time to get ready for Christmas. I'm still in a little bit of denial- this year has flown by too fast, and I feel like I just barely put my decorations away. I'm beginning to feel a little of the excitement of the season, though, and I am excited to share some holiday magic with the kiddies.

Heidi, I have to admit that I was getting a little worried. That you might have lost that blog "spark". We send our condolenses to your family at this time of tragidy. A family fish is, however small, still a part of the family.

I am glad you are back! I thought you might have gone out of town or something :)!

Your little (well big) Sam is so cute! I love the chub--so fun!!

I am sorry about your pet fish. It is so hard to explain things like that to kids. I hope Abram will be ok soon!

I'm so sorry to hear about Seth Mason. To be honest i can't believe he lasted for that long. Luke's fish was only alive for about a year. He too took the news pretty hard, but not as hard as Abram. That really is so sweet. Love you guys and i love the cute pics!!

Seth the fish, I love you because you are my best pet friend. I love you because my mom and dad took care of you. We had fun feeding you. We love you. The people that wrote you comments, were sorry for you. Me and Alex and my mommy and my daddy and Sammy all love you. We had fun playing with you and we had fun watching you eat your flakes. We liked your jar.

Your eternal friend, Abram

p.s. Why did you die?

ok.. did Abram really write that last comment all by himself? If he did...that just may rank him as my favorite nephew. That gave me tears I was smiling so hard.

I'm with Kristen--it really was the cutest comment. Did you type as he dictated? Or is he more of a prodigy than we realized?

i love the resurrection prayer. so tender. isn't it amazing what kids pick up at church. my sister's daughter is in nursery and every morning when her dad gets her out of bed she says "follow prophet dad"
kids are the greatest.

Abram, I am so sorry about your fish!! Thank you for your cute comment on our blog. It was very nice.

Heidi--I am astonished and jealous of your little chubba. From an envious mother of skinny babies.

Oh Abram, we are sorry that Seth died, Anthony's fish never made it past a week. We love you Abram. Tony has taken to the blog to see what Abram has to say about things. I cant believe that Sam and Duncan are just 1 inch and 1 pound off.. wow I love that "gerber" baby!

Heidi, Aly told me that your kids go to Sprucewood and that's where my kids go to school. Anyway- Kiah is in afternoon class though. But still it's so fun how small the world is. Your kids are so stinkin cute. I told Nick to go online and look at it because he was friends with your husband at one point or another. Anyway- I'll be sure to chase you down if I see you over at the school. It was really fun to look at you cute blog and see all the sweet pictures of your kids. They really are so adorable. Have a great Christmas.

No one thinks like Abram does. The best was the sharing time prayer, though. I'm sure he livened up primary.
