What a fabulous weekend! We didn't have too much we had to do on Saturday, so we had a snow day! Phil played outside with the kids all morning- they loved every second of it- and we made yummy cinnamon rolls to enjoy while the flakes were coming down. It was one of my favorite days in a long time. I love snowy days before Christmas. After Christmas is another story. Somehow after Christmas the snow isn't as welcome- it is just a pain. So until then, I will try to enjoy it as much as possible without longing for summer.
Santa Claus made a surprise visit to our ward party. Abram was very suspicious- he didn't think he looked like the real Santa, and he was very tempted to tug on his beard to find out. I discouraged this behavior, and luckily he seemed impressed when Santa knew his name and also knew that he had a baby brother at home. I was also glad that Abram resisted the urge to ask for the elevator that he has been hoping Santa would bring him for two years in a row. I've been trying to explain that an elevator was out of the question- even for Santa Claus. He asked for a book and a movie instead. Alex was very serious about the whole event. She barely said a word the whole time and didn't ask him for anything. (All she is asking for anyway is a night light- hopefully Santa will be able to come through with that one.)
**This picture of Abram was taken on Saturday when he was climbing a tree in the backyard. He got caught by his coat on the way down and was hanging for quite some time until Phil noticed that he actually needed help. Pretty funny.

It looks like such a fun snow day! Taylor and I had one on Saturday, too...who whould've thought that I don't hate sledding? Abram was suspicious of Santa?...big surprise there.
Leave it to Abram to ask for an elevator for Christmas!! Anaylzing Santa...what a hoot! I can't believe all that Alex wants for Christmas is a night light! That's pretty easy. Lili keeps asking for a "spelling wand" which, if you know where I can get one, let me know!!
You could write a whole book on the funny things that kid says or does. I agree with the snow not so welcome after Christmas. It better hurry and get it over with!
I like the elevator idea--what a funny thing to ask for! Maybe a dumbwaiter, at least. Looks like you guys had a fun day! Mmmm... thinking about those cinnamon rolls!
We love your snow man. Anthony wants one in his yard.. Will you come help him Abram and Alex? Santa didnt come to our ward party, probably cuz he was at yours..
Since Easton is on your blog more than on his own, I thought I'd make a comment. Thanks again for the fun snow day! Hi Abram!
I have been laughing for a half hour at the thought of Abram hanging from the tree...are you sure Phil didn't do that on purpose? I do remember him Duct Taping Abram to a chair when he was younger.
That is great! I love your kids. I also love the story of the Sonic drive through window, when Abram said, The wicked witch of the west is a good movie. Or something like that.
I love you Mommy. How are you Mommy?
I love seeing Alex in your nightgown. Reminds me of you. Cute snow pictures. Love all of you.
That picture of Alex is like looking at a picture of you in that night gown. I love the new pics on the side. So cute of Phil and Sam. And so dang cute of Alex sleeping on the stairs. She is the funniest little girl!!
Oh, it is going to be a white christmas! My son, Seth, has NEVER seen snow, so he is in for a treat when we are up in Utah!
Your kids are so cute! I love the "Santa" story and how different their little personalities can be.
Great pics!
Heidi, you might need to create a separate blog just for Abram's comments, ideas, etc. I can't get enough of them!
Sweet Alex wanting a night light! Is she afraid of the dark poor thing?
