A Merry Little Christmas

Christmas was awesome! We had such a wonderful day. Phil and I actually woke the kids up Christmas morning around 8:00 (they had gone to bed very late anticipating Santa's arrival). They were so excited about everything! Abram made the comment that Santa gave him things he didn't even know he wanted. His favorite things were his digital camera and Junie B. Jones books (he has already read two of them). He was also very excited about his new shirt and tie. Alex was darling- she squealed with excitement at all her presents. She loved her Island Princess Barbie and her Littlest Pet Shop toy from Grandma and Grandpa. And she went nuts for her Princess nightgown from Grandma Shelley. Sammy was cute as ever and enjoyed playing with and eating the wrapping paper. We were spoiled at my parents, and then at Phil's parents. Our parents are so good to us. We are very lucky to have such awesome families to spend Christmas with. Our kids loved every minute of everything. One of the highlights for me was the nativity the kids acted out on Christmas Eve. A sleeping baby Sam as the baby Jesus being held by Mary (Alex) and Joseph (Abram). It doesn't get much sweeter than that.

Then on Christmas night Phil surprised the kids by telling them he was taking us on a trip this next week to the Grand Canyon! So today we packed up the car, and we are staying in St. George tonight. We spent the evening with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Morris, and the kids were in heaven. We are anticipating a great next few days, and I am excited to spend some time with my little family- especially Phil.

*The day before Christmas, Abram was making up naughty and nice lists for Santa. He told me that he put Lucifer on the top of the naughty list. I questioned, "Lucifer?" and he replied, "As in the devil. He gets the most coal of all." Hilarious.

A little getaway sounds like such a great plan. You could film your own "Christmas Vacation" while you're on the road.
