Going to meet his new teacher
Abram's classroom
First day!
I'm talking about my first day jitters, not Abram's. Admittedly, I was nervous to send my baby away to school all day long. The first thing out of his sleepy mouth this morning was, "I'm a little nervous." He got over his nerves quickly, though, when we walked with his good friend Avy to school. When we got to school, his class was already lined up and walking in, so Abram ran and jumped in line with hardly a glance back. It's a good thing I hugged and kissed him good-bye a little earlier. I'm glad he was excited!
After school, he gave a good report of his day. Except he said it was a L-O-N-G day. It was. I watched the clock the entire day, and I couldn't wait until it was time to go get him.
The biggest adjustment is going to be the getting up early. Abram got up at 6:45 on Monday morning because he was excited to go meet his teacher. By 4:00 he crashed and burned. He had a fit to end all fits at his Grandma's that afternoon. I commented later about him losing his temper. He said, "I didn't lose my temper. My temper is on vacation." Hopefully we will adjust soon to this new schedule.
I'm glad you liked school, Abram! It is going to be a great year!
