We had a great Valentine's Day! The kids were excited about the day of LOVE and were even sweet to each other all day long. They woke up to a trail of hearts leading to their Valentine surprises (a Berry family tradition). Abram found two new books- a Junie B. Jones Valentine book and a Nate the Great book (and he read both of them yesterday, by the way.) Alex found Fancy Nancy- which is the perfect book for her. She informed me the other day that she only likes "pretty things." So this fancy book was meant for my fancy girl.
Phil brought home beautiful roses for me, and he and Abram gave Alex 3 pink roses and a darling teddy bear. We celebrated with Chinese take-out from Fong's, made complete with a candle-light setting on our china. The kids thought it was fabulous eating in the dark. I love my family- and it is nice to have an excuse to do something a little special.
**Alex gave out Strawberry Shortcake valentines to her friends. When writing out the valentines for her preschool party, she said, "The boys might be a little freaked out that it is Strawberry Shortcake."

Glad you had a great day. Sounds like such a fun time.
What a cute picture! So glad you got the Fancy Nancy book for Alex. That is so cute of Phil to give roses to Alex also. What a sweet dad!
You're so awesome...I didn't do anything for Valentines day because I don't really love it for one, and the storm killed the preperation day for me. But Josh came through and got the kids a movie and me some Ipod accessories. What a sweetie.
You can never go wrong with Fong's
So cute! Love the fun, family traditions!

I'm glad that you had a fun Valentine's day, and I loved that you used your china for your dinner. We had fun with all of you last night. Love my soon to be neighbors.
