I am a little behind on my posts- Phil's birthday was last Thursday! That's right, the big 29. One more year until I am married to a 30 year old! It's funny, but I don't feel like we have gotten any older at all. I still feel like we are just kids playing house. Anyway- Phil had a great birthday, at least I think he did. I talked him into taking the afternoon off, and we took the kids swimming. It was a blast! Abram has turned into a fish! There's no holding him back now. Underwater somersalts, cannon balls, "diving,"(his dives are pretty hilarious- he just puts his hands together and points them downward and jumps in). It is great fun to watch him. Then I took Phil out to an early dinner (thanks Liz and Taylor for baby-sitting). We went to Iggy's and then we went shopping. It has been awhile since we have had a date, so we enjoyed every second. Then we came home and both our families came over for a cake and ice cream/watermelon party. We love hanging out with everybody on summer nights. We decided that Phil has the best birthday possible. (You too, Michelle Chudleigh! Mine is a close second, on July 23rd.) It being July 3rd, nearly everyone has the next day off from work, Phil included, so everyone is in party mode. People tend to stay and hang out a little longer, and everyone is in a great mood since the next day is a holiday. It was a wonderful day! And many more, cha cha cha! I made this flag cake for Phil. It is actually a cupcake cake! I made red velvet cupcakes and then frosted them all together to look like a cake! Then- voila!- we just pulled them apart instead of having to cut the cake. They were pretty tasty, if I do say so myself.
We love Aly and Chris' pool!

Happy late birthday, Phil. Heidi, that cake is SO cute. I love that idea. I'm very impressed. Sounds like a very fun day.
We REALLY need to get together!!
Happy belated birthday, Phil!
That cake looks AWESOME - what a great idea for frosting it all together! I may have to steal this one!
Souds like a fun bday. Cute idea on the cake. Thanks for the bday shout out. Back at Phil.... late of course. I usually remember, but I think I was wallowing in my own misery. :(
